Leadership Breakfast: Empathy in Action

This year, we are honored to host Sara Rankin, Founder & Director of the Homeless Rights Advocacy Project at Seattle University’s School of Law

Sara Rankin, Keynote Speaker

In June of this year, Sara’s work was cited by Justice Sonia Sotomayer in her dissenting opinion of the SCOTUS Grant’s Pass v. Johnson ruling that effectively criminalizes living unsheltered – even when there is no shelter available. She is one of our nation’s foremost experts on the rights of people experiencing homelessness, what communities can do to disrupt structural and intersectional violence in housing, and our path to protect those most vulnerable in Washington State. Please join us as we learn from Sara, and help plan a better path forward for Bellingham and Whatcom County.
